A list of pages without traffic can start an editorial review. It is not a list of pages to delete. A URL may be new, seasonal, useful to existing customers or incorrectly measured. Data-led cleanup should reduce uncertainty before the team makes a content decision.

Validate measurement first

Before interpreting zero visits, confirm that GA4 is connected to the correct property and collecting data for that part of the website. Check page age too: a page published ten days ago has not had ninety days of opportunity.

Keep an insufficient-data category. Failed queries and missing information should not become zeros. Google's Search Console and Analytics comparison explains that the systems describe different aspects of activity; their metrics are not interchangeable.

Define candidates rather than verdicts

Reindexa Cleanup reviews known URLs with low activity over the past 90 days, combining traffic and impression information with the available thresholds. Parameters and irrelevant paths can be excluded from the editorial review.

Decide whether you want all visits or a traffic segment. Document the impression threshold: “few” needs a specific rule. Keep exclusions visible so another person can repeat the analysis.

Make decisions around the page's purpose

  • Update: the need remains, but facts or explanations are outdated.
  • Improve: the page has a distinct purpose and needs a more useful answer.
  • Merge: several pages serve almost the same task.
  • Retain: evidence of usefulness is missing from this period or measurement setup.
  • Remove: the review confirms that the content no longer serves a necessary purpose.

These are team decisions, not automatic Reindexa actions. When a URL changes or disappears, separately review links, destinations, HTTP responses and user needs.

Consider two different candidates

A tax guide may have no summer sessions but become useful during an annual filing period. Another page may document a discontinued feature without a replacement. Both can enter a low-activity list and require opposite decisions. Add seasonality, age, conversions or support usage when that evidence exists outside the analysed dataset.

Complete the review cycle

Export candidates and assign a decision, owner and review date. Then check the same URLs after the work. Google's helpful-content guidance provides quality questions, not a universal deletion threshold based on visits.

Good cleanup produces justified decisions and follow-up observations. Use the guide to evaluating content updates to avoid attributing every later change to the cleanup itself.
